Make a solution of dish soap and hydrogen peroxide. The amount you need will depend on the size of your stain. Once it's made, test it somewhere else to see that it doesn't affect the color. If it doesn't, proceed.
Blot the stain with the solution. Again, don't rub -- blot. And always use a clean rag or section of the rag; if you don't, you risk spreading the stain.
Spray the stain with a mixture of cold water and a few drops of dish soap. If you have a spray bottle, this is ideal. Then, again with a clean cloth, blot once more.
Blot with fresh, room temperature water. Even if the stain is gone, you don't want a soapy, sticky residue from the cleaning solution. Use a clean rag!
Cover the stain with a clean cloth. Set a heavyweight (or weights) on the cloth to force whatever's left of the stain or solution to transfer to the cloth. Leave it for several hours.Once the stain is completely gone, vacuum the carpet to return it to its normal look.
